About Us

Our History

Compressed Air Medical Services, LLC (CAMS) was established in 2003 with a primary focus on delivering expert oversight in hyperbaric medicine and emergency medical support for tunnelling projects. Over the years we have consistently provided top-tier services for tunnel projects in Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and many other cities. CAMS provides compressed air worker training, fitness certification for pressure work, supervision of compressed air workers during hyperbaric operations, and the provision of on- site emergency medical personnel.

Our commitment to excellence extends beyond tunnelling projects. CAMS also supports marine endeavors that involve hyperbaric chamber operations and the comprehensive medical supervision of commercial divers. This includes offering remote and on-site consultations with Diving Medical Officers, ensuring the readiness and safe operation of hyperbaric chambers.

Our Medical Supervision Model For Compressed Air Work And Diving

This commitment extends to the hyperbaric environment, whether it's a tunneling project or a marine operation. Our team members bring their wealth of critical care and hyperbaric experience into the hyperbaric chamber environment.

Overseeing all these aspects is our team of highly experienced hyperbaric emergency physicians. CAMS firmly believes that an integrated team accustomed to working collaboratively offers the level of expertise, efficiency, and streamlined medical coverage required to effectively supervise manned hyperbaric operations. This approach helps prevent the well-documented negative patient outcomes associated with disparate care teams and unfamiliar medical personnel.

From routine medical examinations to managing minor injuries complicated by hyperbaric considerations, all the way to the most severe cases of decompression sickness and medical/traumatic emergencies, the CAMS team is prepared to deliver the highest possible standard of care.

Given our team's extensive background in pre-hospital and emergency medicine, CAMS' medical supervision model is founded on the principle of preparing for the worst-case scenario. To achieve this, CAMS employs a specialized team comprising Paramedics, Physicians Assistants, and Diving Medical Technicians, all of whom possess a track record of critical care and trauma expertise. We firmly believe in bringing the capabilities of an emergency department as close as possible to the worksite to ensure our clients and their employees receive the highest quality medical coverage.

“The Divers Institute of Technology appreciates the expertise in hyperbaric medicine exhibited by CAMS for their work at DIT. We highly recommend their services."

JP Johnston, Executive Director, Divers Institute of Technology.
